The Ohio Vote is at Risk - Take Action Today
--------------------------------------------
Remember the Florida election in 2000? This year all eyes are on
Ohio, but recent events threaten to rob Ohio voters of their
voice in 2004. They need you to ACT today.
Ohio Governor Bob Taft recently signed a bill authorizing 31 Ohio
counties to install electronic voting machines in time for the
November election. The bill, passed by the Ohio legislature,
delays mandated paper verification of all votes until 2006.
*Sign the "Paper Trail Petition" and speak up today.* Demand all
votes count in 2004.
The Paper Trail Petition - Sign and help forward it on today
------------------------------------------------------------
Secretary of State Kenneth Blackwell,
Members of the Ohio Controlling Board,
Columbus, Ohio,
We, the undersigned, ask you in the name of democracy, that you
mandate all manufacturers of electronic voting equipment - Diebold
and others - to equip each machine with a paper record of all votes.
Every vote in Ohio must be counted in 2004. We'll be watching.
In such a hotly contested election, is it too much to ask that a paper
record of each vote be kept this year? Didn't we learn a lesson from
Florida? This isn't a partisan issue - it's just common sense.
*Join us nationwide in protecting the Ohio vote. Sign the petition
and pass it on today.

This is a critical issue for activists and concerned citizens
everywhere - of all parties. Your name will be added to the thousands
being collecting on the ground in Ohio. ACT has several offices
throughout the state fielding hundreds of trained canvassers who
are mobilizing voters each day.
The voters of Ohio deserve to be heard on November 2nd. They need
you to stand with them today.
With great appreciation,
Steve Rosenthal,
CEO America Coming Together
