Dear chien,
My name is Dave Walrath, and I am running for the U.S. House of Representatives in Central New Yorks 24th Congressional District. As a fiscal and social conservative, I want to help lead the economic and political rebirth of our region.
In the 2002 Republican Primary, we came within 1,500 votes on the voting machines of defeating twenty-year incumbent and lifetime politician Sherry Boehlert, despite being outspent well over $1 million to $80,000 in a ten week election cycle. We need new leadership that will foster the economic growth our area so desperately needs.
For too long, we have experienced the loss of our best and brightest people, industry, and good jobs in Central New York. My candidacy will be about job creation for our region, while preserving the core Republican values of lower taxes and responsible government spending, the personal freedoms of free speech, the open practice of religion, and the right of citizens to own a firearm.
My family settled in the region before the American Revolution. Several of my ancestors lost their lives as American patriots at the Battle of Oriskany. I proudly served in the United States Air Force and was Chief Flight Surgeon at Griffiss Air Force Base in Rome. In addition to a life long record of public service, I have raised my family and practiced medicine in the region for almost thirty years.
This Tuesday is an important primary. This is a VERY close race. I am asking each one of my neighbors, and fellow republicans in the district to look closely at the record. You can access my campaign site below:
